Originally built around 1987

All of the Ply in the Transom and the Stringers were delamed and rotted away.

It had to be replaced.

...............  that's right..........  another PROJECT !

Repairs started in October 2014.

I hope we are in the water by March 2015.

Drying the hull before adding Resin and New Ply

New Plywood cutout........ 2 sheets

Note:  Filler filling the gap between the ply and the hull

 

Layers.........  1/2" Hull fiberglass,  2 Full sheets of 3/4" Marine Plywood, with Resin between layers, 1 Partial sheet of Ply

Ply is coated in Resin

Floor deck is removed to expose bad ply

Ply is delaminated and must be replaced

Fuel tank is removed and bottom just be cleaned.

New stringer installed

New Ply (with resin) is installed to supply a new LIP for replacing the deck

Foam is installed to help support the new LIP

Deck is replaced and Gelcoated

 

New supports with rubber pads are installed for the fuel tank

I found this 1998 Force (Mercury) 120 HP Outboard.  It is in really great shape.

I suspect that this one has very few hours.
