How to connect to the flowpoint router............ If you know the ip address of the router (ex: 192.168.2.253) you can use the cmd prompt.... and telnet. telnet 192.168.2.253 Login: admin # (this is the prompt you get from the router when logged in as adminstrator) ________________________________________________________________________________ If you want to use HYPERTERMINAL in Windows........... You will have to have a SERIAL port setup with a USB to SERIAL cable. I have one, it is a blue ended cable. Then you have to hook up the CISCO BLUE CABLE to the Serial/USB cable and the other end to the TERMINAL (RJ45) connector at the far right end on the Flowpoint router. The Hyperterminal port must be set to 9600, N,8,1 The Comm port has to show up in the DEVICES listing. Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, Ports,...... as a " Prolific USB to SERIAL Comm Port" (Comm Port 11) The word prolific is a brand name for my serial cable. The Words Comm port 11 happens to be the port that my serial cable is using. Once this is all hooked up, have you hyperterminal up and running, and then turn on the router. The info should flow from the router to hyperterminal __________________________________________________________________________________
